Viruses

Each of the Derelict's simulations contain four Viruses attacking various pieces of code. Coffee's objective is to purge the simulations of all Viruses, these act as the main battles in The Desolate Hope.

Appearance

The first three viruses in each simulation appear as a glowing red orb. Once approached, a Virus battle will commence. The fourth virus in each simulation appear as a darker green coloured orb and the final virus (PULSAR) is black with a green aura.

Role in the Plot

-MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW-

These "viruses" were actually Anti Virus programs, designed to search for real viruses, attack them and retrieve the stolen data. Each time D-Co 9 defeated an Anti Virus, Coffee took the chance to steal a data from the simulation, making the simulation to each time get weaker.
